I purchased a tube of mascara. It infected my left eye with sty's. It has been two weeks and I still have a swollen eye lid and one sty under the lid.

All the MK director has done is replace the cosmetics. She told me when she came to my home she was going to turn in the bad tube to MK medical department.

I have asked her for their phone number and she replies she will be getting in touch with them and let me know. The only thing that has been done is I have a new tube of mascara and I have not heard from anyone from medical or rep.

There is nothing wrong with Mary Kay's Mascara. You can ONLY GET A STY from NOT washing YOUR EYE MAKE UP OFF!

Hello everyone, I realized that this comments are a little old.

I have been a MK costumer for about 5 years, I just want to mention that sometimes we may became allergic to something that didn't bother us before (it happen to me w/the mascara) MK Products are still wonderful!

and Don't stop using them just because you had a bad consultant. If you get some kind of reaction and you are sure that it was the product you should get your money back or replace for something else, but I do not think it should be a big issue.

The same thing could happen if you buy a product anywhere, it does not mean that there is something wrong with the product that you are using. Thank you :-)

I realize that what happened to you was a while ago, but I came across your post and would like to comment. First I am sorry about your infection.

I am a consultant and the only thing I can think of is that your consultant gave you a used tube of mascara which is an absolute no - no!!!

Mary Kay makes it so easy for consultants to return products, I am sorry that you had that happen. I hope that your experience didn't turn you off to Mary Kay's wonderful skin care and cosmetics.

I do know that if the mascara bottle is pumped that air and bacteria can be introduced into the container. I think it was clearly user error!

I'm having issues with the eye products (not sure which one or ones)....twice when first starting and now when restarting using the eye cream, remover, mascara, and various other eye products. My eyelids swell up and then peel terribly once the swelling goes down. I used to be a consultant many years ago and never had any problems with the product....not a happy camper right now!
